The Story of the Flat Tyre and An Example of How God Kept Us Safe in South Africa
South Africa, safety wise,is not like the UK. We don't have electric fences on top of towering walls, guards, guard dogs, barbed wire outside our homes, hemming us in. We are lucky. Whilst these features were not seen everywhere there, they were seen in many places and safety was definitely something you were less relaxed about.
Needless to say, none of us came to any harm and there was at least one instance where I felt that God stepped in to keep us from harms way.
Twice in two one day we came down with a flat tyre. The first was on a highway/motorway on our trailer, we ended up on the hard shoulder, bunch of white people, ladies trying to make conversation, men trying to be all practical and change a tyre....
Guys were struggling with the array of tools we had, but within minutes we had a police car at our side, ringing for assistance and then a highway maintenance van who stopped and lent us an adjustable spanner which we needed to get the spare trailer wheel free.I am not sure whether this is typical in South Africa but we were not waiting long before we were back on the road again.
Thankyou Jesus!
