Doing it Afraid

I had a bit of  revelation about this Joyce Meyer teaching yesterday and I thought I would share it:

Well really I connected the dots and it was this. It would seem to me that Jesus was probably terrified about being crucified - when people were baying for his crucifixion  - and to know what faced him was sheer agony. But He did it afraid anyway, even thought he didn't deserve it but we did, even though we were not worthy to receive God's grace. I think when God asks us to trust Him and do it afraid, He asks a lot less of us than He has done for us Himself. And it does appear to be that way, Abraham is asked to sacrifice his son, but is spared the ordeal and instead it becomes a witness to His spiritual growth and trust in the Lord. God sacrifices His only son but there is no sparing to be had here, He goes through with it and endures what seems like momentary separation from God.

And so wherever you are right now, even if you are afraid but you know it to be the calling of God, do it afraid anyway, it is a lot less than God did for us.

I think it is difficult to so this sometimes, but we have a counterbalance to fear and that is the peace of the Holy Spirit which acts as a comfort and cushions against fear paralysing us. When you are doing the right things, or the ones God wrote for you, peace that transcends all understanding underpins and underlies what you do. And, even thought we may not understand it it will be worth it.

I shall end this little note on this:
